About Us

The Horse Shed Shop was established by Dene Aitkenhead in 1992. Dene, the husband of a thoroughbred trainer, was asked by a family friend to help build a stable block. Taking his knowledge from the prefabricated housing business he owned in New Zealand and a lifetime spent around horses, Dene was able design and build a stable that surpassed the customers expectation. Recognising the need for well designed and constructed yet affordable stables and other horse structures, he expanded the product range to include round yards, feeding stations, paddock shelters and the like. Dene built a reputation as an honest and reliable tradesman. Word got around and Dene soon closed down his other business to concentrate on filling orders.

With demand growing, Denes brother-in-law, Charles Stenberg, joined the business in 2004. Charles has grown up around horses and has a genuine love for them. He is always keen to help his trainer sister at the track or his nieces with their showjumpers. Bringing his building knowledge and desire to ensure customer satisfaction, Charles has enhanced The Horse Shed Shop's already excellent reputation.

Dene and Charles have a unique working relationship and together they continue to meet and exceed their customer's needs. As soon as you talk to them you'll be pleasantly surprised by their old fashioned customer service and desire to help you achieve the results you want.
